Saturday June 26th we will be
meeting at Rancho Vista Vons parking lot
at 6am and leaving for Vincent Gap
(Mount Baden
Powell) at 6:30am. We will drive
56 miles to Vincent Gap, then shuttle a
car 11 miles further to Islip Saddle.
We should start hiking around 9am. We
will hike 4 miles to Baden
Powell Summit, have lunch and
then hike 6 miles to Little Jimmy Camp
where we will spend the night. Sunday
June 27th morning we will get up kinda
leisurely and hike out 2 miles to Islip
Saddle. Then while the end of the hike
lunch is prepared, we will retrieve the
car at Vincent Gap. After lunch we will
drive home 67 miles.
Due to Elevation, temperatures could
be as low as 30°F to as high as 90°F, so
you will need to be prepared with
layers. There is water at the beginning
of the hike and at little
jimmy spring but
nothing in between, so you will need to
have a minimum of 2 quarts of water for
the day.
